Il SAFest 2025 - Summer Academy Festival è pronto a partire: dal 21 al 25 luglio, la Civica Accademia d’Arte Drammatica Nico Pepe di Udine si trasformerà in un crocevia di talenti, accogliendo studenti, docenti e professionisti provenienti da Cina, Georgia, Turchia, Stati Uniti, Germania, Giappone sotto l’egida dell’ITI UNESCO Network for Higher Education in the Performing Arts di cui anche la Civica Accademia fa parte. Con il tema “Acqua” come filo conduttore, evocato dal titolo “The Four Elements: Water, lungo le onde del racconto”, il festival, sarà parte degli eventi “Nico Pepe International” con la direzione artistica di Claudio de Maglio e promette una settimana ricca di emozioni: spettacoli serali aperti al pubblico, masterclass, laboratori, conferenze e incontri che stimoleranno creatività e dialogo proprio “sulle onde del racconto” che l’elemento “Acqua” porta con sé. Elemento vitale e universale, rappresenta un ponte tra culture, emozioni e narrazioni, un richiamo alla fluidità, alla trasformazione e alla vitalità della connessione di energie. “Acqua” come metafora del racconto artistico: un flusso continuo che scorre, si adatta e unisce le diverse competenze ed espressioni teatrali, coreografiche e performative, i diversi modi di coltivare gli strumenti espressivi dello stare in scena.
Il SAFest vedrà giornalmente svolgersi l’atelier di Teatro/Danza curato da Julie Anne Stanzak, coreografa e storica interprete del Tanztheater Wuppertal di Pina Bausch, affiancata dal critico e performer Hiro Soejima. Si alterneranno poi gli interventi e le masterclass degli altri ospiti presenti: Guo Kai e Wan Liming della Shanghai Theatre Academy, Jason Hale della Bilkent University di Ankara e Levan Khetaguri dell’Arts Research Institute di Tbilisi, oltre alla Masterclass condotta da Claudio de Maglio.
Gli allievi partecipanti fanno parte delle accademie ospiti – Shanghai Theatre Academy, Arts Research Institute of Georgia, Theatre Department della Bilkent University, a questi si uniranno gli allievi del secondo e terzo anno della Nico Pepe. Per il pubblico il festival riserverà gli spettacoli serali con inizio alle 20:30. Si inizia il 21 luglio con” Il rimedio che ti cambia”, un travolgente canovaccio originale di Commedia dell’Arte diretta da Claudio de Maglio con gli allievi del secondo anno, seguita il 22 da “Fake my self “degli allievi georgiani e il 23 andrà in scena “The Journey to the Past” del gruppo della Shanghai Theatre Academy. Il 25 luglio, gran finale con la performance collettiva The Four Elements: Water, lungo le onde del racconto curata da Julie Stanzak (ore 18:00) e, alle 20:30, Le magnifiche storie per restare vivi, presentata dagli allievi del terzo anno della Nico Pepe, appena tornati dall’exploit al FITUC di Casablanca.
L’edizione 2025 del SAFest ha le carte in regola per replicare il successo delle passate edizioni, conquistare il cuore di tutti i partecipanti e incantare il pubblico con la varietà e bellezza dei suoi spettacoli.

The SAFest 2025 - Summer Academy Festival is ready to start: from 21 to 25 July, the Civica Accademia d'Arte Drammatica Nico Pepe in Udine will become a crossroads of talent, welcoming students, teachers and professionals from China, Georgia, Turkey, USA, Germany, Japan under the aegis of ITI UNESCO Network for Higher Education in the Performing Arts, which also includes the Civic Academy. With the theme "Water" as a thread, evoked by the title "The Four Elements: Water, along the waves of the story", the festival will be part of the events "Nico Pepe International" with the artistic direction of Claudio de Maglio and promises a week full of emotions: evening shows open to the public, masterclasses, workshops, conferences and meetings that will stimulate creativity and dialogue precisely "on the waves of the story" that the element "Water" brings with it. A vital and universal element, it represents a bridge between cultures, emotions, and narratives, a reminder of the fluidity, transformation, and vitality of energy connection. "Water" as a metaphor of the artistic story: a continuous flow that flows, adapts, and unites the different skills and theatrical, choreographic, and performative expressions, the various ways of cultivating the expressive instruments of being on stage.
The participating students are from the guest academies: the Shanghai Theatre Academy, the Arts Research Institute of Georgia and the Theatre Department of Bilkent University. Students from the second and third years of Nico Pepe will also join them. The festival will offer evening performances for the public, starting at 20:30. The festival begins on 21 July with Il rimedio che ti cambia, a rousing original Commedia dell'Arte novel directed by Claudio de Maglio and performed by second-year students. This is followed on 22 July by Fake my self, performed by the Georgian students, and on 23 July by The Journey to the Past, performed by the Shanghai Theatre Academy group. The grand finale on 25 July will feature a collective performance called The Four Elements: Water, accompanied by the narrative curated by Julie Stanzak at 18:00. At 20:30, there will be a performance of " Le magnifiche storie per rimanere vivi" presented by the third-year Nico Pepe students, who have just returned from their success at FITUC in Casablanca.
SAFest 2025 has all the ingredients needed to replicate the success of past editions, win the hearts of all participants and enchant the audience with the variety and beauty of its shows.
