The Samsara of River è uno spettacolo originale ispirato al classico cinese Viaggio in Occidente. Segue Jin Chanzi, l'ex sé del monaco Xuanzang, che viene gettato in tre vite di reincarnazione-come una tigre, un pesce e un umano-per non riuscire a capire veramente gli insegnamenti buddisti. Attraverso queste vite, si incrocia ripetutamente con Sun Wukong, il re delle scimmie, in un viaggio attraverso la vita, la morte, l'identità e le convinzioni. In definitiva, entrambi scelgono di rimanere nel mondo umano, abbracciando la bellezza e la fragilità del momento presente. Con un linguaggio poetico e un tocco di umorismo, il gioco mescola mito, filosofia e riflessione moderna per raccontare una storia commovente di fede, amicizia e ciò che significa essere umani.

The Samsara of River is an original play inspired by the Chinese classic Journey to the West. It follows Jin Chanzi, the former self of the monk Xuanzang, who is cast into three lifetimes of reincarnation—as a tiger, a fish, and a human—for failing to truly understand Buddhist teachings. Across these lifetimes, he repeatedly crosses paths with Sun Wukong, the Monkey King, in a journey through life, death, identity, and belief. Ultimately, both choose to remain in the human world, embracing the beauty and fragility of the present moment. With poetic language and a touch of humor, the play blends myth, philosophy, and modern reflection to tell a moving tale of faith, friendship, and what it means to be human.
